If your airbox is 'smashed up' then you'll be sucking in lots of road crap into your engine / intake system including water which is never good for running.
Intake systems are designed to perform at a specific volumetric value and airspeed. If you modify them then you need to change the jetting as the airflow will be different.
Fitting a chavtastic pod filter is a quick way to more problems. You'll have to upjet to compensate for the increased airflow but that will be pointless as the engine won't be able to get rid of the gasses any quicker through your standard exhaust. They are also exposed and get wet etc.
If you don't upjet then you'll run lean and blow a hole in the piston or the engine will seize Just replace the standard bits and you'll be fine. ____________________ Current ride - Yamaha MT-07 |
