Hi all, I hope someone can help me out here. My bike is a Hyosung RT125 2007 model.
I changed the bulb in my bike to a Halogen upgrade one (it is the correct one as a fellow Hyosung owner recommended it) and the full beam bit blew first then the bulb fully after a couple of months. I just put a new bulb in ready for the MOT and it blew the day after (just the full beam one so far). There must be something wrong with the electrics/the switch if its doing that? If anyone could give me some advice of what to check that would be great. Also assume you are talking to a comlete novice when refering to stuff!!
Thanks

There could be a number of simple reasons

1. You are buying shite bulbs.....it is worth shelling out the extra for Phillips / Bosch etc.

2. Are you touching the glass of the bulb when you put them in. You should never touch the glass area of a halogen bulb as this greatly reduces life expetancy.

3. Is your bulb holder secure and the light unit freeish from vibration as this will kill a bulb quickly.

4. Is the wiring all insulated so that it can't create a short.

Thanks for your replies.

My bulb cost about £7, I would happily spend more if it is the bulb at fault and a better one will last. However I'd be reluctant to spend more if it is an electrical/mechanical fault and a £12 bulb blows after 2 days!
We didnt touch the bulb as my neighbour told me not to do that.

My break light also blows quite frequently. Last one lasted maybe 5-6 months, which could be normal for bikes for all I know Embarassed

Not normal lol. As someone else has said, put the old bulb back in and see if it does the same thing.
