Centre stand/wheel alignment

Just took my wheel off to get tyre changed and when I've put it back on I've noticed that the center stand doesn't have the same size gap at both sides near the tyre, one side is about 4mm and the other side is about 10mm.

The wheel is aligned as both chain adjuster markings are both on the same marks and the wheel, chain, sprockets seem to operate fine.

Is this normal? Never really looked before so not sure what it was like before!

Did they perhaps leave a spacer out or put them back in the wrong sides of the wheel?

I took the wheel off myself and two spacers came out, these have been put back in the right way round (checked haynes whilst doing it)...

Your stand is not necessarily symmetrical, nor are they always held in very securely.

There is a plan spacer on one side, a shouldered one on the other side, and what appears to be a tube type spacer inside the rim itself, it was only the first two that fell out.

Is there a way to 100% check it's alignment?

Hi

Get someone to sit of the bike with it upright and the front wheel straight. Then hold a long straight bar against the rear wheel, touch the edge of both the front and back of the rear wheel. Check the gap between the front wheel and the bar. The do the same on the other side.

I don't have anything long enough at the minute to check the alignment, I have measure from the centre of the axel bolt to the front swingarm nut and also the other side (axel nut) and the measurement is 100% to the mm.

I have also measured from the center of the axel bolt, and nut, to the back of the swingarm and again this is bang on.

Looking at some old pics, I think it may have always been like this, on the chain side I can get my finger inbetween the tyre and the center stand, but the other caliper side theres only a couple of mm gap.

Also, the center stand rubber exhaust stop thing has never been inline with the link pipes rubber.

Does anyone know if I can adjust this stand so it sits in the center?

Does the stand foul the tyre?

Does it fall off the stand?

If the answer to these is no, I would just leave it alone.

If it aint broke, don't fix it.

The clearance between my stand and the tyre is very small, as is the clearance between the chain and the tyre. So long as it can't move about and foul the tyre, it's fine
