In the process of stripping my top end. Heads off but the barrels are stuck. Its a 1979 cb900, I've had to hacksaw the bolt at the bottom of the barrels (head was rounded off) and no amount of persuasion is getting them to break their seal. Any suggestions no matter how brutal will be welcome. The barrels are scrap ( I have a brand new set and pistons to go on so damage to the old ones doesn't matter - already tried a lump hammer ) ____________________ XX XXXx

whne putting the barrels back on make sure the rings are all lined up correctly(three rings per piston ,ring gap usually 120 degree apart) and oil the piston tops/rings before lowering the barrels, good luck. ____________________ nearly a normal tax paying tosser.......with ferrileness suzi100,cg125,cb125scb100n,cb175,cd100,cj250t,kh250,c15,125 bantam, super 6,rickman gs750,xt500,250rs,dt175,lifan125,dolomite1850,metro,Morris220ld,morrisfg,leyland princess, range rover, corsa,vw camper .now struggling with legs.
