Check this thread out mate, I think they're talking about the same camera.

Edit: Also check out the HD version. It's only £20 more.

Windows7 is just a Vista service pack really, so yes it will work.

I have one of those keychain ones (a number 3 which was considered the best).

Here's some footage from it (ignore the date/time as I didn't set it properly and don't worry about the issue I'm having with the bike there, it's getting sorted).

It's recognised as a USB flash drive so any modern OS will support it (I use it on Mac and Linux machines).

Get the MD80.

I bought one off ebay for 8 quid including a tone of accessories.

Quality isn't too bad either.

I find the MD80 is a more practical shape, it's easier to put in your helmet if you are so inclined. I haven't found the MD80 in an HD version though, only the keychain.

Check out the 'Chuck Lorre' link on the thread that ImNoSuperman linked. Lots of useful info there.

Ive been thinking of getting a small camera to make the odd video. Nothing major so price needs to be low. Also for the bike it needs to be fairly compact. Ive found an MD80 replica not sure if it will be any good though.

https://www.ebuyer.com/product/183959

As a general rule if something supports vista it will work exactly the same with windows 7. Between windows versions everything is fairly compatable. Windows 7 has added a few quirks though in that as it was mainly designed for 64 bit systems it will only run 32 and 64 bit programs. So older 16 bit applications wont run and instead you get an error saying that the program is not compatable with the version of Windows, Changing compatability settings will not resolve this issue. I get this when trying to play some of my older games like Dungeon keeper gold and Railroad tycoon.
I very much doubt this will be a problem in this example though. and I did get off topic there sorry Wink

Check out Techmoan for good reviews on various cams.

Also masses of stuff on MD80 if you search here.

HD key cam is good as peeps have devolped better than std firmware that allows timestamp to be removed and also continueus recording with safe shut down so as not to lose clips Thumbs Up

Ye that's basically a carbon copy of the md80.

If you want better quality, buy a go pro. 100 quid plus though.

I run a ContourHD 720 camera on the bike all the time since I had a black cab do a u-turn in front of me last year.

I was lucky last year because I just happened to have a camcorder bolted to the front of the bike and running at the time. When the cops turned up I let them see the footage and they didn't even bother to question me anymore after that. It's also made the solicitors job much easier when going for damages.

The Contour cameras aren't cheap but the quality is very good. The batteries last 2-3 hrs and they are charged via a min-usb connector so can often be charged at work if your commute is longer. the only real problem is that they come with a 2GB card which is pointless, an 8GB or 16GB is much better.

That road up to the T-junction near the start is a disgrace.

Iv had 2 of the md80 type in the space of a month, they are pretty fragile little things.

first one screwed up because i left it plugged in to my laptop when i shut it down.

second one died from 2 drops from hand height, so not too high really.

iv not bothered getting another one due to how fragile they were, other than that for the price the quality of picture is pretty good.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/110711420952?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Can't complain for that price even if it only lasts 1 day! ha

Ill post a video once it arrives (within 2-3 days) hopefully.

they aint bad for the money - but dont expect it to last long. Mine didnt. Worked fine a few times then just suddenly stopped. Binned it - realised id left my sd card in it a few days later Embarassed
If you want a very good camera for the money - half decent quality and a lot better built id reccomend the motrax kwikcam - can get em about £40 new now. Takes an 8gb micro sdhc card no problem and it runs off 3 aaa batteries in a unit which is attached to the main camera via a cable. It aint no gopro but its good and sturdy and reliable. No little fiddly buttons etc just an on/off switch and one button on the camera which you press to record/stop. simples.

Found this nice little photo guide to hack yourself one with an external mic from a cheap keychain camera:

Going to do that myself sometime soon Thumbs Up

Mine came today! Less than 24 hours from buying it on Ebay.

Havnt had chance to go out on the bike using it, but did a quick test in my flat.

Ignore the messy flat/grubby window haha. I havnt changed the time on it yet either.

TBH though, for £8 so far so good.
