Rode into work this morning, all fine. Left the office to ride home and noticed a pulsing or grabbing at front wheel. Quite bad on motorway and brakes don't feel as good

What could the problem be. ? Warped discs? Wouldn't I have noticed this before rather than sudden change?

A warped disc can happen at any time really. Excessive use and rapid heating and cooling doesn't help.

Is it definatelu the brakes? By grabbing I guess you mean some sort of resistance as if your pulsing the brake lever?

Unbalanced wheel maybe?

warped discs are common on ZZR600's, along with knackered back shocks and holey exhausts, but they're worth it!

Warped disk and/or sticking calipers. it just needs money chucking at it!

Your brakes could be working fine, piston goes out, piston goes in and over time it goes back in only slower and slower until one day it got just enough dirt on it to stop it going back in far enough and BAM you have a dragging brake overheating your disc.

Clean your brakes before shelling out for discs.

I have checked the discs (heat wise) when getting off and they aren't hot at all. I cant feel the pulsing through the lever, but through forks and front wheel only

Hi

If you can't feel it through the lever I would suspect the disks are not warped. Not sure what you are feeling through the forks, but could still be disk related if they are contaminated (oil on them, or a pad having stuck to one and left a residue). However I would also check the wheel bearings and also for any wheel weights that are missing.

All the best

Keith
