Hmm should have posted this in 'General bike pics'
Never mind, I can update this post with new pictures when I fix stuff so it's sort of a project thread.. |

I'd have a look for a side cover as well. If it's airbox (think that side is ) then no worries for MOT. You do need to make sure battery is covered properly and securely though.

Found a mirror I had lying around from my old Yamaha SR so chucked that on there so I have one mirror that actually lets me see behind
Ordered a matching pair for £5.99 from Taiwan via eBay, probably cheap shoddy crap but it'll do until after Christmas when I have some spare money |

It's not too bad, but honestly I think I'd use my other bike for MOD 1 |

Not updated in a while so here goes.
Added new mirrors, of course I didn't think to check how the mirror mounts were affected by the new bars, so I had to use some ugly adaptors I had lying around to get the mirrors in a useable position
I think I may switch back to a more original shape of handlebars, after Xmas.
The chrome front mudguard had a few parts where the chrome layer had come off and was rusting away (cheap pattern part not the original) so I used Kure rust on it and painted it matt black (only paint I have!) which will do until I can source a proper mudguard, or proper coloured paint to repaint it.

Still after a RH side panel but that's all. The bike is running nicely and anything else is just cosmetics Engine case could do with repainting as could the frame, but I am not currently confident enough in my ability to disassemble and reassemble the bike to do those Maybe a job for the future. |

So updates, I found a side panel, but it was green. Sod buying proper Yamaha dark red or whatever colour the bike is, so I decided to just paint the whole thing matt black. It's pretty much a rat anyway so may as well have the colour scheme to go with.
Spraying skills? What spraying skills....Take the tank off to paint it? No I say NO.

From the side:

Funny enough though, the bike is actually riding better than when I bought it, despite it's looks. It's cosmetically shite but mechanically sound Had to buy a new battery a couple of weeks ago, it was still running the original battery and this winter finally killed it.
I'm not worried about resale value, I bought this cheap as chips to mess with, and I'll run it until I can't afford to, or until I do my full test next year and somehow can afford a bigger bike (I can dream that I might have some money spare next year...) |
