Both of my take-aways have the ignition barrel and steering lock separate, which is a good sign that they're fairly universal. In essence, the ignition barrel is just a few electrical contacts and a rotary switch, there's nothing tricky going on in there. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

a mate of mine has a sky jet cbr rep.And to be honest has been pretty reliable in the 12mnths he's has it. .only thing it has needed doing was change to decent oil and plug plus some decent tires.and going round all the nuts and bolts with a little thread lock. |

Nothing wrong with the skyjet IF you do as above, loctite some bolts and actually service the damn thing.
Electrics can get a bit shocking... but hey, its character
Although, they are nothing on their CBR counterpart.. I waltzed past one on a dual carriageway on the way to work with the CBR...with no fairings at all. Then I changed to 5th.. and left him. Not fast mind you... but I'd hate to be stuck doing 60mph. |

Lol it's his first 125 so I don't think he'll notice it being slow, I think anything you jump on for the first time seems fast, I remember my CBR125TDC feeling like a rocket! Then I got the TZR and that was world's apart.
So we'll give the bolts a good going over and hopefully it will be alright for him, managed to get it for 400 T&T 12 months. |

What about something like a Cyclone C-11 (£23) and you could have remote starting? |

It never hurts to ask.
Don't sweat it, worst case you can part out the plastics to CBR owners and make a fair bit back.
Just bear in mind that it's got an air cooled CG125 cloned pushrod lump in it, you'll be doing a real 50-55mph regardless of whatever fantasy figure the speedo is showing, and if you peg it for that distance, you may arrive missing a few nuts and bolts. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
