Hi,

I've recently started commuting to work on the bike. It's about 20 miles away, with the option of A roads or motorway. I've tried both and the A roads are nasty but reliable. The motorway feels way safer but if there's a hold up, I'm screwed as there are less places to find an alternative route.

What would you guys do?

Motorway? Hold up? There are spaces between vehicles and you can filter down the gaps, 40-50mph is quite possible in absolute total gridlock motorway on a motorbike.

Could filter, yeah. On that - can you filter when it's a solid white line on my side, or just a broken line, when I need to cross the line to pass?

Also, some of the stop starts at traffic lights through towns on the A roads is annoying.

Until I passed my test Very Happy I was riding through Stockton Heath to get to work. I tried the motorway for the first time on Thursday and it wasn't too bad. Quicker, but noisier and I'm not too sure my Intruder (125) should do 80... Twisted Evil

I'm going to try it again a few times, but from the time angle, for me, the M6 is better than the A49.

Just my 2p.

Andy
