As per title..Show your home.
Shifty ....Not the one you're in now silly.

An old abode..maybe just somewhere you crashed for a month..your place of birth.
A short tale to amuse.

I was born here.
We rescued a pigeon.
It flew up the chimney (with the fire lit).
We rescued a pigeon.

https://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h52/Germonicus/Bikes/32Ellesmere.jpg

The place I grew up,from the age of 5 til I went into the army at 16 and then parents and sister moved out when I married at 19.

My dad would be turning in his grave if he could see the state of the garden now,it was his pride and joy.I spent many an unhappy day weeding borders and cutting grass in that garden.
Oddly even after 28 years or so it has the same front door/glass front my dad fitted himself when I was about 8 or 9 (I'm 46 now) and the sign we bought at some country fair with house number and street on it.

If you look closely you can see on the very extreme right our garage which is where some rat bastard stole my GPZ500 from, also got my Nolan N40 lid that was hanging on the mirror Sad

All in all it was a bloody great place to grow up.....often thought of going back and knocking on the door and asking for a look round inside but don't wanna seem creepy Wink

[Edit to add] This is the gable end of the house, couldn't get a view of the front on google earth.

Top floor, view of the Thames. As an 18 month old Shaggy, used to watch the car transporters cross the railway bridge, and the helicopters heading for Westland heliport.

Ok lets go....

Born in Colechester, Sorry, no info of the house as I was too young. Moved to London, again no info but it was in Mill Hill somewhere. Then moved to Dusseldorf and again no info because I dont remember. After that though I remember:

Moved to Bielefeld and lived Here for a few years and then moved up the estated a little to just past the yellow bike in a flat in there

Left Germany and lived in the corner house here. Moved from there to the newer houses where the second tree is although it was a sappling when I lived there.

In 1987 I moved in with my grandfather here My cousin now owns the house and that looks like the sister in the garden.

We then got the house in my previous post and stayed there until I moved to a house in belfast that is no longer on the map. The place was redeveloped.

Then it was back to England and Cornwall where I lived here, here and and here

Then lived in Bath here The place looked great outside but was terrible inside. Hense the move back to belfast to the same house in the last post.

I then moved around Belfast a few times living Here for about a year then about 5 years here in a lovely little ground floor flat. That bay window was mine. I briefly lived in a little cottage type place Here before moving to Portsmouth.

did I win?

To date, I've lived here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and currently here.

I'm 36, so that means (on average) I've moved every 2 and a quarter years.

A lot of my friends joke that I should just buy a caravan and be done with it.

Laughing

Edit, forgot to say I also spent a fair old while over here, but as I was of NFA whilst I was there, I can't really count it.

In 1983 I spent a week squatting in the kitchen of the Iranian Embassy in Harare Zimbabwe. Bloke I knew had the keys once it had been abandoned but they only gave me access to the one area.

Can't actually see my place as it's not on a road.

It's not actually as nice as it looks. Few people having a bit of a noisy chat on their balcony about 23:30 last night. Only to be told to "Shut the f*ck up, you c*nts!" By a fellow resident. Gotta love Lewishaaaaam! Thumbs Up

Unfortunately street view isn't amazing for a lot of the early years of my life.

Mochudi, Botswana : 0-4 months

Lancashire, UK : 4 months to 1

Eynsham, Oxfordshire : 1 -2

Papua New Guinea x 2: 2 - 8
(A very vague guess, around here for one of them).
I'm pretty sure I would have been sitting somewhere in here. That assembly 'hall' was newly built while I was there. Seemed massive at the time. Note, no sidewalls because cold and rain weren't really an issue - just a roof to keep the sun off.

Eynsham, Oxfordshire: 8

Cambridge; one shared room, one bedsit: 9

Eynsham, Oxfordshire: 9

Reading: 9-11

Halstead, Essex x 2: 11 - 20
(One here.)

Colchester (for 3 days, turns out the room I rented wasn't for rent.) :20

Halstead, Essex: 20

Reading: 20-31

Kegihley, West Yorkshire: 31

Must go through some of the pics and slides at my mum's place and get them scanned - especially while I can ask her about specific locations etc.

Oh and:

a good idea. I have strong memories at certain points in my life..I could give you a tour of the house i lived in when aged 3-5. Yet 'the transient years' do get a bit muddled.

Thankfully my father was an avid photographer. There's hundreds of slides of their touring Africa, India etc before I was born too.
Every time I see facebook groups about old schools I have a think about it. Always seeing a previous department manager of mine on facebook posting up pictures of Cyprus when he was a kid - quite interesting as he must be around 60 now.

I've got quite a good memory - first memories from around when we first moved to Papua New Guinea and could give you a load of detail from the first two houses there.
Unfortunately at that age of course I didn't pay too much attention to roads etc, so hard to judge from an Aerial map (and could while have been torn down etc, now). I do remember cycling in to the main 'city' along dual carriage ways and the shape of the road coming out of out house etc (I'd wave to my dad when he was going to/coming from work as he rode his motorbike along the bigger road below our house.)

Mine aren't anything exciting.

1st place was obviously with my parents

Then moved to a small flat

Then into my in-laws house for a couple of years after they passed away

Now in our new home Very Happy (The smaller one on the left, not the whole thing!)
