Will that be any good? Just for general use around the bike.

Cheers.

It'll be fine for bigger stuff which is all you should need to check anyway.

Bit too high torque that wrench is.
IMO Something covering 19-180. (in the end you need two wrenches to cover the full range needed
Not used the clarke stuff.
Tell us if they're any good if it still works after a year or so. Smile

I have one of those that I use for the majority of nuts and bolts on the bikes. But I use a bigger 1/2" drive torque wrench for the swing arm spindle nuts as they require a much higher setting.

paid £18 for it I think!

I'm not be facetious but do you realise that the range quote is in in/lbs? 120in/lbs = 10ft/lbs = 13.5Nm.

I do agree on the two wrench rule though.

I use my 3/8" torque wrench for items like the tope yoke bolts on the KTM.If you do not use the correct tool for tightening these bolts the clamps can crack on landing during an enduro.I have seen this happen,so I always say to use the torque wrench for everything. These settings are in the manual for a reason.

I assumed that he wasn't planning to do enduro on his CBR600. Thanks for putting me right.

I have one of those, the torque range is ideal. I have a larger one for sprocket nuts/axle nuts but the one in the link has been about right for everything else. It came with a calibration certificate so at least it was accurate when brand new, I haven't had it recalibrated so I couldn't tell you how accurate it is now though.

Brother has one too, his too has been fine.

I am going to make something so I can calibrate it DIY, will let you know when I do.

Thanks for that. Just looking for something I can use for most jobs around the bike that will stop me from breaking things. This fits the bill then?

This is what I use.

https://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l41/marki_03/PA130184-1.jpg

Torqueleader 0.5Nm to 6Nm
Norbar 8Nm to 54Nm
Norbar 20Nm to 100Nm

Anything bigger and I borrow one from work, but that rarely happens.
The smaller wrench really doesn't get used, I have enough faith in 'feel' to get by.

If I had to have one wrench I would like it to be around 5Nm to 100Nm, covers all the important stuff easily. Sealey do one from 7 to 112nm but its about £40.

Me. FOC. Wink

I manage a Metrology lab so it's really easy. If you want yours checking then just give me a shout. I suspect that a private lab would charge £20 to £30 but that is simply a guess. There isn't much work involved but its the 'cost' of the cert that will bump up the price.

Only light use and not dropped so wouldn't be right away.
