Hi guys

Well I managed to get variator off,put on new belt all back together.
Charged battery the scooter started.oh joy I said.

Took it up the road for a spin and well it hardly moves.
Acceleration is less than half what it was only got to 30mph .
Its a 250cc that used to sit at 70.

Any ideas before I pull it all off and throw a strop in the garage?

Cheers

Steve

Did you get any oil or grease on the belt or the pulleys?
If you can tension the belt is it correctly tensioned if not is the belt the correct length?

The rollers probably have flat spots.

Hi guys

Cheers for replies.
I will hopefully have a look today.
The scooter is awful to work on.
The previous owners managed to square off round and grind every bolt.
I think it could be when I put the belt on I pulled the clutch roller(the rear one) out fully to put belt on ,now I guess I should have pulled the belt so it sits stretching belt more?closer to the outside?if that makes sense?

Many thanks again guys

Pulling the clutch out would make no difference as once the engine starts the belt rotates and automatically moves out at the back and in at the front as this is how the scooters gearing works.

When you check tonight make sure theres no oil or grease on the belt or pulleys. Also check the rollers for flat spots and make sure they are correctly fitted.
