my front break caliper on my CRF450 is im guessing the pistons seized and i and still push the bike forward with the break fully applied, i know its not the pads as they are almost new.

if i was to fix it i have no idea what i would be doing so would be shooting in the dark when i take it apart and that breaks are quite important

also it leaks oil a slight bit so there prob need some work to it i guess.

Buying a new one won't help. The 'oil' it is leaking is brake fluid, it needs pressure for the calliper to work. It needs a rebuild an re-bleeding.

You sound completely mechanically inept, so take it to a garage. It shouldn't cost more than £20 for the seals £5 for the fluid and an hours labour £60? from a dealer. If you take it to a private local garage it probably will set you back £50-60 total.

Hi

If you can pull the brake lever hard, feel pressure in the system and still move the bike the caliper is either VERY seized (in which case it would have pretty much no effect), or more likely it has seized badly on the pins it slides on (suspect it is a twin piston sliding caliper). If so getting it to slide on those pins again will be the difficult bit.

All the best

Keith
