Good evening everyone, I'm conducting a survey on the use of Sat Nav and would like to receive your views on the topic. The objective is to bring to market a new navigation device for motorbike that would fare better than current available products.
Our innovative product would consist of a transparent and sticky back screen which can be easily put onto the inside of any conventional helmet visor. Once paired with a smart phone it will give the user directions, without having to attach a device to their handlebars.
It's a very short survey. Here is the link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/HGG2LPW
Thank you

Waterproof and cheap is about all thats required beyond the basics. We don't do surveys unless they pay us or do something for us and getting you a degree just doesn't cut it.

Would have helped if you had added this...
| Quote: | We are in the process of developing the following product: a head-up navigation device for motorbikes. It consists of a flexible and transparent display that can be applied on the visor of a conventional helmet and a mobile app for smartphones |
to your post as, Sickpup said... This time of year we get plagued by students asking us to do their work for them......
BTW, Question 1 should be multiple choice as depending on when, where, how. i can use any of them
Personally all I need to voice which I get now via phone when needed. All other info is already where I need it. ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |

@ iooi
Thank you for the suggestion, I've edited to make it clear. As for the following comment, this is meant to understand behaviours and opinions not to "do their work for them" |

I'm confused. Is this market-research for an actual product which will be coming on sale or is this just another "proposed" product by a Uni student, which will never see the light of day?
I ask because I can't see a product like this being feasible to create with our current technology and the prices consumers are willing to pay. And because the image looks like its just been quickly put together in Photoshop. Tell me if I'm wrong, but a flexible sticky back transparent screen actually does not exist yet? The best I could find were units which had a glass screen and quite a large base unit: https://www.planarembedded.com/electroluminescent-display/transparent-display/
Again, could be wrong, but don't all cars with this kind of technology use a projection device? That must be for a reason.
Wouldn't this screen also require a unit to be placed inside of the helmet? I.E. with a microchip to create the display and the wireless radio which you're saying it connects to the phone by? And if that's the case, wouldn't there have to be some sort of ribbon cable running from my screen in to the unit itself? Because if that was the case then it would be very intrusive (you couldn't really open your visor.) On the other hand you could be using nano technology, but that would be extremely pricey.
Plus you've got to think about power consumption. The battery on my HTC Wildfire struggles to take me far using just GPS and Roaming Data, if I was connecting wirelessly to a device too (like using Bluetooth) then surely I'd be running out of battery much quicker, meaning I'd have to install some sort of charger into my bike and plug my phone in every time I wanted to go somewhere.
I don't mean to try and point flaws, but these are my main areas of concern because I can't think how they could be done.
This post isn't all just rant though. On the flip side I do love the product and actually contemplated trying to build something like this myself once (but couldn't find the right technology to use for the screen.)
If this product does ever come about, for around 50-100£, then you'd probably get a purchase from me. As for now, learning the route before I leave it just fine, and headphones for GPS if I'm lazy ____________________ 2004 R1 & 2018 XSR900 |

Sorry to burst your bubble but many companies already have this planned and have implemented it into cars. The market isn't that lucrative too many problems with the whole idea.
Thought of this when I was in school this is when it first got announced and for that reason I'm out. ____________________ CB125>CG125>GN125>ER5>K100RS>R1100RS>K100RS
