So my bike is kept garaged, and is covered in ACF50.
It will be used maybe once or twice a fortnight just to keep it 'alive', so i was wondering is there anything i need to do to keep it all working correctly, so when i start using it regularly again next year i wont have seized brakes, rust or an engine that wont start?

Some say drain the carb to stop gunk building up, others say dont drain the carb as it dries out the rubbers.

Thanks

If you're going to be using it every couple of weeks, then really, nothing!

Maybe keep the battery on an optimate, and try and go on fairly long rides when you do.

Rinse the bike off after use to get rid of salt etc.. paying close attention to the brakes.

If it was going to be sat til spring then it would be a different story, but as you're going to be using it, just less often, there shouldn't be a problem.

If you are using it every week/2 weeks, personally I'd just keep an eye on the battery.

I've left a bike for a few weeks... probably 5 or 6, started it and had no problems at all. Thumbs Up That wasn't covered up or in a garage either.

fill petrol tank, ride into garage, place cover over bike.

come summer time (well spring), remove cover, ride bike out of garage, enjoy

Short journeys possibly as condensation builds up and oil can go manky, but do an oil change come spring and voila Thumbs Up

if your going to use it, once or twice or so, then make sure there long rides. Not 1 mile trips, more like 15 miles or so, otherwise the engine is just going to wear out quicker due to heat cycling.
