shouldnt be hard at all, i'd imagine just buy a round one at the right diameter and swap em over. Youd have to repack the loom in there though which can be a bit of a squeeze if you dont get the connectors packed in well. Dont know why you'd bother though, the square one suits it better IMO ____________________ 04 NSR 125(sold) ---- 03 CBR 600rr(sold) ----90 pan euro ST1100 ' ' ----02 CG 125

As far as I know, the ONLY 'genuine' CG125 to have a square headlamp is the Japanese Home Market 'Nostalgia' model.
The square headlamp is kind of a defining feature of the model, that got a number of other detail changes, like a rev-counter, not normally found on the serial production CG's.
The CG was designed to be made in the Brazilian Satalite plant; and was never in serial production in Japan; as far as I know, they merely did the 'early build' there to stabilise the production process before moving it to Brazil, then copying it to other satalites around the world to meet production demand.
The Japanese 'Nostalgia' model was then built IN Japan, for the domestic market only; hence any that are in captivity here in the UK are 'Grey-Imports', and will probably have a big difference between date of manufacture/first use, and date of UK Registration, on the V5/Log-Book.
This does effect insurance; becouse you have to declare that its NOT a UK model, not that it should make huge difference.
Reccompense is that CG afficionado's reckon that they have the best build quality, and may be a tincy-wincy bit faster.... though if that really mattered you wouldn't be buying a CG!
Personally, If I was buying a CG, wouldn't make an iota of difference to me, whether it was a Japanese Nostalgia model or a contemprary plastic body BRazilian 'Duel-Start' or whatever....
What would matter was price and condition.
They have a tendancy to become victims of thier own reputation; ridden into the ground in the belief that they really ARE indestrictable, and 'low-maintenence' means NO maintenence.
As for the headlamp; the illumination from a low wattage bulb, powered by a low out-put generator on a typical lightweight is RARELY going to be 'wonderful'.... and the shape makes bog all odds to that!
And experience tells me that swapping a good 'stanley' lense for a round generic aftermarket one, is likely to be a retrograde 'improvement'..... so I would leave the thing as is! ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!
