You're probably best going for something over £60. A fibreglass type one will be lighter and stronger and in the £100 region. You can get carbon fibre ones which are lighter still, but it's probably not worth the extra cost unless you've got money to burn. If you can, aim for a decent helmet ~£100, but don't over spend |

As everyone says, go with something that fits well.
I like HJC's. They fit me and are comfy. I have 3 including the carbon one.
I also have a shark RSI Fireshark which cost more than all of my HJC helmets, looks the dogs danglies, is increadibly comfy, fits superbly.......... untill I ride fast on a naked bike, when it pushes back onto my nose
So it's what fits you best. People say you have either an Arai or Shoei shaped head, but you wont fit both. I must have an HJC shaped head (or just a big nose!) ____________________ Triumph Trophy Launch Edition |

The ACU sticker SHOULD be a sign it meets certain standards.
But of course like with many systems, there's some corruption in there.
As people have suggested - I would go for fit first, then consider other options if there's a few with similar fit.
If you really care about protecting your head while road riding, I'd look into making sure you don't crash, which will be much more effective . |
