Post some pictures. If they are very deep then the last thing you want to do is try sanding them out, you will end up weakening the rest of the panel. A better option is to fill the scratches by plastic welding and then sanding down. ____________________ https://www.metacafe.com/watch/1972097/how_to_behave_on_a_forum/ |

Thanks, I'll have a look this evening (can't get onto ebay in work)
I think Paddy is probably right though, and it's not worth doing anything.
I'll still gets a pic up on the weekend though.
I did hear somewhere that caravan window restorer works as it's the same plastic, I'll look into that too. |

What colour is the panel, where it's scratched?
If the panel is black there is a solution, of sorts, that doesn't involve sanding or painting.
What you need is some cabinet makers hard wax, it comes in a variety of wood colours and black, one stick is about the size of a Mars Bar.
All you need to do is shave some small pieces off the wax stick with a Stanley knife. Roll the pieces between your finger and thumb until they become soft, (the heat from your hands will soften the wax, although don't expect it to go as soft as, say, plasticine).
Once the wax has softened, work some into the scratches, don't worry if you apply too much.
Once you've filled the scratches with the wax, you can scrape any excess off with your finger nails or a plastic scraper.
Once you're happy polish over the area with some wax polish, ie Turtle wax, this will remove any smears.
This is the stuff you need:-

Brasso...the very abrasive metal polish? Good luck with that. They now produce a polish for plastics but it's for TVs and ipod screens etc.
My 2p...
Deep scratch (through lacquer and top coats) i buy a small pot of matching touch-up paint and apply a few thin layers then use T-Cut then a good polish. The original Auto-Glym is excellent and will last me at least 5 years. Quick zap of Mr Sheen is my main polish.
Light scratches i live with. ____________________ Diabolical homemade music Bandcamp and Soundcloud
