Just a wee heads up for anyone that hasn't already realised that bennetts are a bunch of arseholes.
I took care to ensure that when I took out my policy with them that I chose the option for them NOT to automatically renew my insurance as I was aware that they did this at the time of taking out the policy.
My policy is due to run out and they have informed me that they:
"will renew this automatically for you to ensure that you're always covered".
What they really mean is:
"we don't think you remember that you opted not to automatically renew and we will do it anyway in a hope that you get lazy and just let us do it anyway."
Bennetts will help themselves to the money in your bank account against your wishes.
I hope I'm not the only customer you have permanently lost over this and your recent actions regarding modifications.
I hope to have assisted anyone who is considering taking out a policy with bennetts. |

Well if Bennets have gone against you explicit instructions f'k em, I hate it when shit like that happens... but having said that I have been saved in me car insurance before now with this kind of commerical behaviour.
Now that I am married of course I have no need to worry, it is all sorted out, best quotes obtained, forms filled out... may not be the best reason to, but if you are not yet married... we all need a secretary after all ____________________ Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit. Gotta love Bennetts.
Took out a policy with them a few years ago (on spread payments)and I'd never encountered auto renew before.
Since I'm a half intelligent person, I knew when my policy expired, so I'd done some shopping around beforehand, in readiness; bike was off the road at the time, so I wasn't that fussed about renewing dead on time, until I came home from work one Saturday night, to a letter from a finance company, informing me that a new credit agreement and DD had been set up for me, which would end up costing me more than twice as much as I could get insured elsewhere.
The finance company were closed for the weekend, as were Bennetts, so I cancelled the DD online with my bank and called Bennetts first thing Monday, to cancel the policy, which I hadn't asked them for.
They told me it would cost me 50 quid to cancel (er, hello, 14 day cooling off period and, by the way, where was the reminder?!) and got very shitty when I refused to cough up.
Then they instantly passed my refused cancellation fee to a debt management company, who kept phoning me and sending me threatening letters.
Bennetts Motorcycle Insurance are wankers of the highest order and should be avoided at all costs.
I hope they rot in hell, the scummy bastards. ____________________ Things get better with age; I'm close to being magnificent........

Aye they insurance brokers are arseholes.
Not when they pay out for your silly mistakes.
They are not all that bad but like any service it's up to you to ensure you get the best value.
Keep receipts etc.
I've never been unable to recover cost from brokers/insurers when they fuck up.
Just a bit of agro that's all. ____________________ W-ireless A-rtificial L-ifeform L-imited to O-bservation P-eacekeeping and E-fficient R-epair |

If OP'd have done a search then the countless threads on the subject would have been shown.
Also, posting in a relevent thread like >Here< helps other n00bs get to the right place too. ____________________ Roger wrote: Women don't get damp for clingy puppies. Get some better happy pills, hit the gym & buy a medallion the size of a dinner plate. Job done |
