So yeah.

Had my Full licence for just under 2yrs before it got revoked. Bloody New Drivers act. Dont get me started on that one.

1983 Honda Melody 50cc (putting the value at £200)

Previous Claims :-
15/04/2011 -
Theft - vehicle parked away from home, but was recovered
02/02/2008 -
Accident - driver not at fault and recovered all costs and excess

Points:-
08/05/2008 - LC20 - 3 points
04/03/2011 - SP30 - 3 points

The ped will be kept in a locked garage (house)
Less than 2000 miles a year.
Prov licence for a couple of months with CBT (not done this yet, just testing the water for insurance)

No cheating but lets hear your guesses for how much fully comp insurance will cost.

Rather high, I suspect - they'll look at someone getting Fully Comp on a £200 melody and know something dodgy's going Razz.

What I'd find more amazing is what the excess is for a fully comp policy on a £200 30 year old scooter.

Would you have to own up to the points because your license was revoked. Technically what you have is a different license, I assume driver number etc.

If the driving license number differs from the one you got the points on I would assume you dont have to declare the points. Its not like you had lost your license for a year etc, it was revoked.

I don't know, but I would guess yes. Only for the fact that you have to declare points for 5 years even if they have expired after 3.

^

That declaring points for 5 years sucks too! I mean by law your license is clean and you can collect your full 12 again after 3 years. If a policeman asks if you have any points on your license you can tell him no. But, insurance companies seem to want to hammer your balls to to the wall for an extra 2 years. That is wrong.

All quotes for FC are min 300 max 900 (approx)
TPFT - 250/700
TPO - 110/500

All require a compulsory excess of 100 quid.

I can't imagine that LC20 doing you any good. They probably reckon you've got a 200 mph double-red powerband ped. Wink

£110 TPO with that history isn't totally unreasonable, and I really can't see why you'd be after anything else. You could also probably get away with insuring it with a load of fantasy security on it, see if that brings the TPO quotes down as well. Not entirely honest, but then again... LC20, they're already factoring that in. Whistle

Something else, when your license was revoked, did you tell your insurer at the time, did they cancel your insurance, and have you declared that now?

Surely they should buy you dinner/hold a chloroform soaked hankie over your face afore trying to shaft you.

The final injustice being the name of the bike. Melody. Only Chuck Norriss could carry that off.

Sadly no, i had my license revoked under the new drivers act as well, your previsional license will come back with the same license number.

The only upside i could see was when i redone my car test i got all previous catagories put back onto the license without having to do retests for all of them, and there is no indication on the license that it was ever revoked.

If you hadn't broken the law, you wouldn't be in this position.

Nothing wrong with a Honda melody. My lawn mower has a bigger engine though.

Are you serious?

2 claims and 2 convictions, and had your license revoked all within 4 years. That's your high risk Wink

Tats more than I've had in 20 years! Wink

Anyway, I'm not saying this to you in a bad way so don't read it like that. Wink

pretty much that, full license for 6 years (25 now) didn't restrict it. no points, 1 theft claim.
my insurance is up for renewal, MCE phoned me today offering £200tpft. last year it was £150. the year before it was £150 fc. i told them to do one.
might do a quick quote just to have a look.
4 years ncb
1 theft claim
25 years of being a fucking winner Cool

^^ you know one thing to note with mce, there direct quote may not be as cheap as it is on ms.com or confuzelled,
i found this out when i did a quote on moneysuper and it was 30 quid cheaper online than the renewal quote they sent me in the post,
after ringing them angrily to tell them what c*cks they were and being passed on to the floor manager he told me that moneysupermarket are making a mokery of them by effectivly 'paying' for things out of there own pocket. i.e
the insurance through money super was cheaper because they where paying for the breakdown cover (29.99) which is included in mce's price when going direct.

which also highlights the 'free breakdown' its not free its included theres a diffrence.
