This is my first post in this part of the forum so sorry if it sounds noob like. Never really been much for the dirt bikes or motocross as they don't look safe in my view.

However after checking ebay for random items come across this below. Now to me it doesn't sound like such a bad price for what it entails just wanted get feedback basically. Was thinking about summer time after I finish university.

My freind and his dad both went to one when they were getting into trail riding. They had nothing but good things to say about it, Trials bikes are really light and easy to ride. I say go for it

trail riding at least you have a seat when you're fat and knackered like me Very Happy

150 quid looks decent value. look at feedback though first

Reasonable price for an 'adventure-Sport-Intro' course. Depends how much ride time you get for it though.

BRILLIANT experience though, but I warn you, it is HIGHLY adictive!

Very 'cheap' to get into as well; its probably 'the' most accessible form of motorsport you can find.

Doing it 'For real' in competition; many clubs offer 'Day Licences' so you can litterally just turn up and ride (your own TRIALS bike,, wouldn't reccomend trying it on the Super-Dream, Smiler Wink ) for maybe £20 or so.

Conventionally, you join a club, pay maybe £20 annual subs up-front, and apply for your ACU Trials licence which may be another £10, then maybe £5 or £10 an event entry; and unlike road race and other disciplines thats it; you dont need a medical or seperate insurance or anything.

Bikes are pretty durable too; hard worked and often bashed, but its not a test of speed, so you dont NEED the latest, this years tackle, and umpety rebuilds a season to be 'competative', so they tend to be pretty cheap and easy to run, too, and you still stand a chance of getting respectable 'results'.

So on that score, £150 to ME was 1/4 of my annual competition budget... including the petrol to get to the meets!

Seriously, after the set up costs of having a bike, boots and hat, paid my subs, £150 would have probably been my all in costs for three or four events, 1/4 to a 1/3 of the 'calendar' in any one clubs annual 'championship'!

So, if any-one is a little more seriouse and wants to have a go, with a view to taking it further...

MAY be worth pondering whether that £150 might be better spent, JUST doing it!

Most of the set-up costs, buying a bike and kit can be recouped selling on if it doesn't work, and the sort of advice you'd get at a course like this is freely offered by fellow competitors at events... freindly bunch for the most part; and some clubs often run non-competative 'training days' with the experts on hand to give the novices pointers and tips and some instruction on how to improve.

Cannot really add anything about trial riding, though I would love to try it. But looking at the vendor.

No ebay feedback or history, their website gives no company number, no VAT number, no permanent contact number, no postal address, and no real customer feedback.

I'd love to give it a go, but there's too many warning signals there to go with that vendor.

Anyone around me/willing to travel - find a trials practice day/area etc not too far from me and cover my costs and you're welcome to have a play on my Rev3. (There used to be a good one up the road from where I was in Reading that did Wednesday nights in summer, but haven't looked around here.)

I'm not very good and haven't done it for a year and a half, but trials folk tend to be pretty friendly in my experience if you're looking for advice.

On the ebay ad - they're not listed as a business on ebay I believe and don't know how to use it (that ad is going to cost them a good chunk as it's in the automotive section, may well get taken down too.)

Nothing wrong with the vendor. They are a couple of miles down the road from me. Just a landowner making a bit of money on the side. Its a £20 deposit up front with the rest on the day.

Not exactly clear on their site, but seems you can just turn up and ride once you've paid club membership and a 'daily fee' for 'BUMPY' - if so, offer definitely stands, gimme a shout and we'll work out a date etc if you're interested.
