I'm changing chain/sprockets on a CB500 and have brought oem Homda one but I've noticed it's about 8" longer than the old one meaning I'l have to remove links (no link remover tool !!!)

I've checked the sprockets are the same as the old ones etc..

Have I been given the wrong chain? or are they always too long and require cutting down?

Thanks.

Ive found that OE ones are too long, while if you get them from independent inporters they are the correct length.

Better too long than too short!

ive always bought aftermarket chains rather than OE, ive had two from DID and one from RK and all fit without having to remove any links

strange to hear they dont come the right length Confused
