 |
|
Can anybody tell me exactly what you're supposed to do when you have these 'crocodile teeth' on the road in front of you on the approach to a speed limit sign?
https://s0.geograph.org.uk/geophotos/02/80/36/2803689_dabea378.jpg
Is it to advise you to gradually slow down to the speed limit about to be enforced or is it just a warning of the change in speed limit?
Might have these on my test route, so need to be sure what to do.
Clarification would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, |

The two rows of white triangles serve to alert drivers that the 50mph speed limit on the A48 reduces to 30mph ahead at the western edge of residential Caerwent. ____________________ GOOD GAME BODYGUARD: https://i.imgur.com/8WePGgf.jpg

As far as I know it's simply to make you aware of your speed, like at the end of a motorway.
Other than that, no idea. ____________________ 2004 R1 & 2018 XSR900 |

Notice the speed limit signs just beyond them? They usually signal the fact that you are approaching a new (lower) speed limit zone. They are often accompanied with bumps in the road too.
Just when you see them/feel them, be aware of the new speed limit zone in front of you.
However, in my opinion, if you were paying attention at all you'd notice the new speed limit zone in front of you long before you get near those things.

Should always check your mirrors before you speed up. Not only for the obvious 'check if a copper is behind you' but also there could be someone trying to overtake you in your blind spot, if you accelerate they then get hung out to dry on the wrong side of the road and may struggle to get back in, leading to a head-on smash.
Same way you should always check your mirrors/rear view in a car when you are slowing down.
Mirrors are there for a reason, should be checking them every few seconds matey. . ____________________ "Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul."
