I'm only getting around 80miles from £7.50-8 of petrol, apparently I should get 130miles before reserve (minimum) when thrashing it (still with around £8) It's a Suzuki GS500 (98')
It's been sitting in the shop for about 5 months plus, doesn't seem to be leaking anywhere, any ideas?
Cheers! |

£7.50 of fuel?? thats about 7-8 litres..... 130 miles out of that?? i think thats optimistic, i believe the gs500 does 35mpg. my ninja does 31 mpg and from 15 litres i get 140 miles.

This is what I was told by most users on the gs500e message board, some even say they get 150-180
If you say 80miles is about right then that's I was just worried something was wrong with the bike after reading the type of mileage they get out of theirs. |

As Keith pointed out, the main points to check are the carbs, including checking the choke is fully openeing and closing, and that the float height is correct. Have you had your carbs balenced lately? May be time to get it done. ____________________ VAG Cars - www.vagcars.co.uk - North East VAG Owners Club |
