Ever the optimist, I am away to look for a cruiser as the gixer 750 is starting to make me hurt a bit although I still have it. ive taken quite a shine to a rather smart looking honda vt750 shadow black spirit and hoping my short stature is going to be able to cope with it okay.
I may cry if its too big (its allowed im a woman) although I felt happy enough sitting on an ordinary shadow last week for size. Had wanted the triumph speedmaster but the tank was way too bulky and I could only just manage to get my feet on the pegs. Any short arse cruiser riders out here? I felt somewhat insulted and patronised when a bike place showed me to a 125 marauder!!!!

What gsxr 750 you got ? cause the k5's were lower then the older ones...
I had a k2 600 and used lowering links on that (dropped an inch), and chopped the seat a bit... The duke didnt need to be touched, low enough.

I do fancy a harley sportster though.... nice and looooow.

Which Speedmaster did you try? Apparently the newest model is lower and has a less extreme reach to the pegs... TBH just about all of the middleweight cruisers have a more upright seating position and lower seat than the Speedmaster so I wouldn't let that put you off.

https://cycle-ergo.com/ is well worth a look, it's not perfect but it should give you an idea of what should fit you. The Virago 535 is probably the smallest cruiser ever made so it would be worth starting from there and working your way up! Wink

my gixer is a k1 and was profesionally lowered by DRS in Hull, i have been speaking to the owner whos mrs is 5'3 and he sent a photo of her sat on it, im quietly confident.
i dont like the viragos to be honest and the speedmaster was fine height wise just too bulky at the tank, now if they had the same style tank which tapered in loads as on the american id have been happy but i will know by Sunday, i will either own the honda or not, dont like the sportsters as they arent cruiser enough for me, im being fussy i know but after years of buying bikes on a whim then having to fart about with them i am being more thoughtful this time. thanks for the feedback though Smile
that ergo site is brilliant thanks for that i should manage as long as the 27 inches is enough, oh hang on I have new rock boots Very Happy

A sorted one is better looking than any sportster.
