could i use this speedo on my rs??

hi all.looking into a digital speedo for my aprilia rs 125.its a 2000 model and has a cable speedo off the wheel.is it possible to change it to electric??love the look of this but there just the speedo problem.

also i have put renthal bars and im after some universal mounts.cant find anything decent just the usual cheap tacky shit of fleabay.has anyone had to buy a universal mount that is half decent?if so where did you get the bugar from??

Simple answer is if you can fit it, it will work.

If you notice, there is a section in the spec for selecting your wheel size. This means you will have to fix a magnet to the wheel, in the hub area. A pick up sensor mounted on the frame will then allow the speedo computer to count the number of revolutions per time period. With the wheel diameter set in the computer it can then work out your actual speed.

Fantastic speedo, that.

It has 4 lights, neutral, indicators, oil pressure and full beam.

The speedo part is via 6 magnets put into the disk bolts, and a sensor taht you put on the fork leg, which picks up the magnet, and when you punch in the diameter of your wheel and the like, it gives you the reading.

The rev counter is done via the coil. you just plug the cable in and you're sorted.

It's also got a fuel guage, not sure if the RS has one or not.

Like i said, it's a good speedo and it works VERY well. see this video for the one i had on my GPZ 'fighter!

you do realise that this speedo clamps right onto the handlebars, right?

Don't think i've got speedo mounts, i've got mounts to bolt onto the yoke for the bars, and a set that clamp onto the forks for the headlight. never know though, got a box full of streetfightery parts.

iv got the mounts for the light which comes off the forks.i like the digi speedo but i was only gettin it if i can make the ones i have already got to fit properly.when u next get a spare minute have a look through your streetfighter bits and send me some piccies.need some universal mirrors if you have any.im using bar end indicators though so they cant be bar end mirrors.
