Hi

Has anyone derestricted an NSR125RK exhaust?
I had an Arrow on my bike but it rusted through at the header pipe next to the engine.
I've just bought a s/hand pipe from a breakers that has not been derestricted.
Should I use the same method as in the nsr125.com website?
My pipe seems to be slightly different as the one in the pictures.

Cheers

Your pipe shouldn’t be different? But yes I would do it the same way as is on nsr125.com my friend did it that way and it worked fine. I’ve got to do mine yet when I get time.

What nsr you got?

Ok mate if its an import it will be slightly differant to that on nsr125.com. Take the exhaust off, and I think if its the UK one you will be able to see this.
If its an import its a lot more difficult, where the exhaust come out from the bike there are kinks in the pipe work at the first kink you need to cut there and there will be a ring, grind the ring away and then weld back up. You may need to take it to a garage to do it. But before you do this find out what restriction there is on it. Then try and find the guide on the net with pictures on how to do it properly.

Hope that helped mate Thumbs Up

Hi

NSR125.COM is showing the late NSR exhaust. The RK should be restricted in the same way, but the exhaust itself is a slighly different shape. If it is an early 1990s bike then an import would be highly unlikely to be restricted at all.

All the best

On my RK the whole exchaust was thinner and there was nothing to drill out! which confused me everytime i took it off to see if i had missed something!

But to be honest mate if its anything like mine was you'll get fed up with trying and just face facts that 85 is all your gonna get!!! (if your lucky!)

Thanks kickstart. Mines a 1998 so hopefully the exhaust will be as easy to de-restrict as the one on the site! (If I ever get around to it). Hard enough work trying to get it to work properly restricted at the moment! Confused
