When riding home from work tonight i noticed that the moped (piaggio nrg 50 LQ) had lost a fair bit of acceleration, on full throttle usually sits at 8k rpm drops to 7 for a bit then builds its way up to 10,200, roughly the max and a top speed of 52ish Embarassed.

However tonight it was just sitting on 7k and doing about 42 max with fairly slow acceleration, any idea why?

Ive made no changes/mods to the bike and it was de restricted prior to me buying it 2 months ago.

Its developed a leak onto the exhaust I noticed when I parked up, I think its 2 stroke Crying or Very sad Is it possible they're related Question

Thanks Razz

Check the basics first
Fuel filters
Air filter
What colour is you spark plug?
Holes in the exhaust may affect performance

I would investigate that leak is it coming from carb overflow .u may have stuck float or blocked jet causing leak

If you aren't sure whether or not it's a 2 stroke - what have you been putting in the fuel tank? If it is a 2 stroke, and you haven't been adding 2T oil to the fuel in the correct mix, the engine could be just about to seize up!
