Hi All. I bought a new carb for my YB as the little fella(YB) seemed a bit down on power and the carb is definitly showing signs of wear. So I fitted it and now I have a strange problem. Starting the bike is a bit of an issue, it used to start on the 2nd kick, now it takes a while. Once started with the choke on, it is fine until it warms up, then it cuts out. Restart with the choke off and it will idle fine once warm but seems to have delayed acceleration, ie, twist and it takes a couple of seconds to rev. It didnt do that before. When warm and riding it feels down on power, but put the choke on and it is back to normal power but stop at the traffic lights and it cuts out. It will restart immeadatly with the choke off.
Now, I can go back to the old carb as I didnt have all of these problems, but it was not running as smoothly as needed hence changing the carb in the first place. I have checked the points, they are only a few months old, the gap is correct and the plug is good too. When running the bike is not running rich or lean. The battery is good, the only thing I am not sure of is the condenser? Do they degrade or just fail?

Thanks, Russ

Make sure the air pilot screw is 1 1/2 turns out.
Put the little c clip on the slide needle in the middle setting.
Try that first.
Make sure you try it with the carb cover back on the bike or the setting I said will not work.

So I have had a look at the settings and I notice that the old carb has a 2.5 mark on the underside of the slide, and the new carb has a 3.0. Can anyone tell me what these mean, and the needles look identical. Thanks
