Putting more fuel into the bowls won't make it run any richer, unless it was previously draining the fuel in the bowl.

Are they over filling? How did you come to the conclusion that it was running lean?

What have you investigated?

Been having problems since I bought was sooting up plugs so stipped carb.found wrong jet missing o ring and worn float valve so replaced and tester .took plug out found white hence lean in manual it says if you are experiencing too much fuel (rich) or to little (lean) you should fist check and adjust float hight?

Did you check the height or just prat about with it? Running lean could be down to an air leak, is your carb pulling in air?

Carefully shave a mm or so around the float? so it stops sticking?

Is its the actual metal mechanism sticking?

Whilst the float height mat be one of your problems for running lean, are you sure the fuel Air mix is set correct?

If the floats are sticking in the top (shut) position you need to take the float pin out.Turn the float valve around the other way, and reset the float height.
Hold the carb in your hand the proper way up and test it to see if it sticks.

make sure the float pin is clean and has no scratches in it as this will cause the float to stick.

Thumbs Up
