I have been looking at these bikes for a possible future purchase, question is the front visor is non existent and one review says its needed above 80 miles an hour. Can a bubble or normal visor be fitted to these bikes?

Visor..?

I guess you are on about the little bikini fairing above the headlights?
If so, then no, you dont need it above 80mph. It may make a tiny bit of difference, nut nothing mega.

In fact, some owners reckon its better without, some with. I guess it depends on how tall you are, your helmet, etc etc.

And anyway, you can make the 'fairing' from the Speed Triple fit.
Thumbs Up

I for one have found the Pixie hat make a hell of a difference, I fine it really keeps the wind off, and I'm sure I have heard somebody on the forum say it adds about 20mph onto the top speed. You can buy a bigger screen do a search for Laminar Lip. Thumbs Up

Thanks for the replies, that pixie hat or bikini visor sounds like its adequate for the job it was built for then.

To be honest, i never tried my bike without it. But i have spoken to a few other owners who had tried bothe with and without and they had mixed views.

What i can say though is that at 145mph (indicated) it gets quite windy even with it on.

I've been looking at these recently.

How are they reliability/getting parts wise?

Would it be a crap idea to use one as a daily commuter?

The only problem i had with mine was the stator packed up. I had to replace that, the reg/rec and the wiring between it all.

Other than that it was spot on. I commuted all year round and it was very very tidy when i sold it. I did wash it regulary and use FS365 on it though.

It had lots of stainless bolts, and the powdercoating and paint was nice and thick so it looked like new really.

Overall a very good bike, fast as feck up to 100mph, and handled really well (much better than i could utilise).

My only real critiscm was that it (for me anyway) lacked a bit of soul.
The engine felt quite coarse and lean, i reckon if i had got around to playing with the fuel map i could have got it feeling a bit meatier.
Incidently you can now do that for the price of a cable...

Overall, a good bike and i miss mine occasionally.

I've got one and commute on it daily and love it.

I think putting a bigger fairing on it ruins the looks of the bike, so I haven't. Up around 90mph+ it does catch you a bit on the top of the helmet which can be a little uncomfortable for long periods (I did a 600 mile round trip in 2 days and my neck was aching afterwards) but as I have been told repeatedly MTFU!

Agree with the 'souless' comment above though, I think its something to do with the IL4 engine, triples seem to have something more about them

Sold my S4 last year and I have missed it every day since. I tried mine with and without the flyscreen and I found at speed it does make a bit of a difference coz you tuck in behind it...
