Love my Thundercat, it's low cost, suits me and as far as I was concerned was all the bike I needed.

However, I was lead into temption to sit on a brand new GSXR, and now the Thundercat feels like a heavy, agricultural lump

I feel like I have had a one night stand with a super model!

Joking a side I was absolutely amazed at the difference in weight, it was incredible.

It happens.....when you find a bike that you fall in love with you can find imperfections in any other bike even if they were perfect before.

Careful of showroom comparisons. There will be no fuel in the tank, no chain and padlock under the seat etc. The difference in weight is not that great, a fat bloke on the latest thing and a thin one on the 'Cat, just about the same kerb weight, Take a good look at the T'Cat, a few quid freshening it up and it will be as good as you ever really need.

Being frank, after getting made redundant last year I'm so careful with money that it's just not possible to buy new now. The Cat is all I need although the weight difference was staggering.

Don't get too seduced. Chances are that if you bought the GSX-R there would be things about it you'd find disappointing and you'd start feeling nostalgic for the Thundercat, better isn't always funner.

Alternatively keep the cat AND go get the GSXR....best of both and all that...
