Posted: 22:04 - 25 Apr 2012 Post subject: Best 125 Supermoto to fit this spec...? |
 |
|
Hi I'm new to BCF, and wanting to get a supermoto, I'm guessing there have been plenty of "what's the best 125" questions before but I'll be a bit more specific.
- must be 2 stroke
- preferably Japanese
- not Chinese
- learner legal but tunable
- reasonable insurance costs
- reasonable reliability as far as 2 strokes are concerned
- cost less than £1500
As far as I can see, a DT125X ticks all of those boxes. But I'm considering all options.
I keep getting told Aprilia MX is a good choice, as well as the KTM EXC, but I'm not convinced.
I've also been thinking about a project, like an older DT125 restoration/supermoto conversion, or even a motocross to supermoto conversion (YZ 125 for example) but they seem like a lot of work and effort with registering them etc... and then there's the question of insurance.
Also if it helps, I have four years driving experience (cars) but no experience with bikes.
I see nothing but good reviews about the DT125, so not too sure why I should be looking at anything else but want to make sure I haven't missed anything. |

But save more and get a pukka example.
Or better still, spend less and do your test then get a big thumpin grunt monger . ____________________ Chase my Witch up, Catch my Snitch up.
