An after-market filter would probably give it more grunt - most are designed to give better intake rate, but this could potentially limit the life of the filter (thinner/more delicate?), ensure if you do mess with the air box that it sounds okay and not too bbbrroppppp or tinnng tiinnngg ish. If its a K&N or a Piper-cross this won't happen these are designed for no mess just good flow. You'll know if it sounds bad. Your stock one however would only limit the power you get, and not really be of much tuning benefit. Not much can go wrong with filters just ensure there are no holes and cleanliness once a while. ____________________ Curse of the GPZ; Crash - new head & piston; MoT fail - warped discs & rotted exhausts; Slip - new indicators & handlebar; Crash - bought crash protectors; Blown over - bent subframe; Dogstrike - dead pitbull, broken humerus, buggered knee, smashed fairing...& still going. |
