I use a spray de-greaser (like 'Gunk') and an old paintbrush before drying it off with some old rag and re-greasing.
I have a Loobman Chain Oiler fitted, so don't need to do this too often. ____________________ Honda Varadero XL125(V8)

So as for re-greasing, standard engine oil will be fine? I dont want to over or under lube the chain ____________________ Current : Honda XL Varadero 125

I mean, I know the chain is ment to have a good layer of grease on it, however mine is now 1part grease with about 3parts muck and grime.
I'll try the WD40 trick first, as i have all that at home, just need to get a good chain lube.

4 litres of paraffin costs about the same as 600ml of aerosolised WD-40.
Paraffin, toothbrush, engine oil, wipe off excess, job done. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
