This is so dumb but I don't know anything about my bike. Today the handling felt really different, especially going around corners. When I parked up, I looked around and it looks like something has fallen off?

I've looked in the service manual and online but can't find any clear pictures of this bit of the wheel. Is it normal or should it have like...a pin or something?

I've attached a picture. It's a 2004 CBR600F.

There is nothing that need to go in those holes. they are there to remove the spindle. A tool slots through them so you can turn it.

Nope, it's so you can put a screwdriver through the holes to pull the axle out.

Check tyre pressures on both wheels.

This and look to see if any of the weights have come unstuck from the wheel, it may just need rebalancing.

They're normally held on with an adhesive (or sometimes double sided tape on a budget) and can come off.

Glad I didn't go to the garage in a panic and look like a mong, as usual. "Why does the accelerator on the left handlebar not turn! How do I make the front wheel speed up!"

Tyre pressure and rim weights are all fine. I'm starting to wonder if it is just because the roads are dry for a change and I had got used to riding in the wet. Plus the petrol tank is nearly empty so that might be a factory.

Thanks for the info guys. Very Happy

Its worth checking your front wheel bearings if you can get the front wheel off the ground, by checking for play - grab the tyre top and bottom and try to rock it, then do the same left to right.

They can go suddenly!

Maybe you are leaning it a bit more and the tyre has squared off after the extended cold and wet weather.

This.

Have you got a picture of your tyres? If they are very squared off the bike will feel terrible.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
