I've caught the bug!! Yamaha YBR125 2011, 2100 miles on the clock. Bought this yesterday and rode it 30 miles back to my uni residence. It rode perfectly, absolutely nothing wrong except a bug in my helmet that refused to get out, so I eventually had to stop and squash it.

I spent much of today riding it around, finding excuses to do all sorts of errands just so that I could ride. It's sooo fun! On a dual carriageway at one point I mustered the courage to see how fast I could go. I got it to 65 quite quickly, and it definitely felt as though it could go faster but there was a 40 zone and red lights ahead so I had to slow and stop. It didn't go above 8000 revolutions (red line is at 10).

Very pleased with this purchase, I am now leaving my car at home and keeping the bike at uni.

I need to buy some anti-fog stuff because the visor keeps fogging up, very gradually but noticeable. The sun visor fogs up straight away if the main visor is down.

This is so much fun! I particularly enjoyed myself at rush hour when I was able to whizz past all the traffic. I was nervous at first but when some guy on a moped overtook me I decided to give it a go and it wasn't so bad.

But did you check the sub frame?It looks twisted.

Awesome,

Get your arse on ebay and search for the uprated powerband.
It is a totally legal mod, doesnt even effect insurance Very Happy
I cant remember which one is the best though, but i am sure someone else on here will chime in.

Nice bike Thumbs Up

Rather than fucking about with fog sprays and stuff like that, and because you can't fit a pinlock in your sun visor, I'd recommend a respro foggy mask. Keeps your breath away from the visors, £15ish from amazon and no fogging Thumbs Up

You'll have to get a pinlock and not use the sun visor then, unless you wanna use the sprays - which I've heard are useless.

I might buy one and poke holes in it to put elastic bands through so I can strap it around my head. I'll get back to BCF on how that goes...

Fogtech liquid is pretty good - lasts for ages too.

Dont bother with the wipes, get the bottle and a pack of j-cloths...

Just bought some "bob heath" antifog and some boots Smile

Oh god the boots are so soft and comfy! I want to wear them as every day shoes but at the same time I don't want to wear them out!

I bought some Bob Heath antifog spray, it was useless. If you find a way of making the stuff work post it.

Damn I wish I was young and at University with a bike, you are going to get laid so much!! Smile Its amazing the attention you get from women when you have a bike Smile

Even with an L plate on the back? Laughing You might be right, my nissan micra never did me any favours in that department.

As for the antifog spray, the guy in the shop said a lot of people use it wrong; you're meant to put it on and leave it on, waiting for it to dry. Haven't tried it yet myself.

Put it on last night and left it to dry. Went out today and it has made a difference. A tiny amount of mist appeared on the sun visor when I put it down but it disappeared in less than a second, and after a few breaths it stopped appearing altogether. So it appears to have worked.

BUT I'VE SCRATCHED MY MAIN VISOR SOMEHOW

THERE IS A BIG SCRATCH RIGHT BETWEEN MY EYES

I tried leaving the Bob Heath on all night then found it worked but when waiting a long time at some lights and rather than mist up a sort of watery film seemed to appear at the lower edge of the visor. It did distort vision a little and cleared when I started moving.

You better watch Steve Martin in The Jerk, that distracting scratch in the middle of your vision could be a problem Smile
