I've always wondered: what is the purpose of multipoint sockets? Who uses them, and for what? ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

No idea, but they do come in handy on a knackered bolt head, can sometimes hammer a size down onto it. |
Hmm, fair enough. I just use Irwins for that though. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

For multipoint bolts and nuts.
Or for people who are too cheap to buy inverse-torx sockets |

I paid a lot for my torx bit set, I don't 'bray' them onto anything
Halfords Pro stuff is usually good quality and the only thing I have broken is the 24" cracker bar, and I had a 4 foot length of scaffold tube on it at the time, I just took it back and they gave me another with no questions asked
For cheap and good enough Franklin tools are pretty decent and cheap enough that if you brake something it doesn't matter too much and get a reasonable torque wrench, if you strip the threads on the sump you will be swearing. I bought a pack of 10 14mm sump washers on Ebay for something daft like £1.50, never going to re-use one again at 15P a shot. |

With multipoint sockets you can run several appliances from a single 110/220v spur.
I hope this helps. ____________________ W-ireless A-rtificial L-ifeform L-imited to O-bservation P-eacekeeping and E-fficient R-epair |
