Im new to this forum so first of all a hello to fellow bikers! not only am i new to the forum but also biking, and therefore have very limited knowledge.
I was mystified though as to why i only have 4 wires coming from the flywheel generator, there is a pink wire missing, should i be worried? is this important? I have a hundred other questions as im currently trying to figure out the wiring loom but thought I would start with one simple question and see what sort of response im likely to receive. help would be very much appreciated though, since i have no biker buddies to steer me in the right direction, im enthusiastic to learn tho cos i wanna get this bike back on the road!

cheers

Hi Smile

I registered just to answer your question! And I do believe I will need some help myself shortly :p

I'm currently constructing a CG125 Chinese clone, but I am led to believe that the wiring loom and parts are interchangeable... (correct me if I'm wrong?)

I have been posting in another forum and have been helped greatly in regards to wiring! Link is here .

More specifically, if you cannot view the forum, part coloured wiring diagram is here .

Good Luck Smile

hi, thanks for the reply, but i don't think it does answer my question because thats the wiring diagram for a huoniao bike, whereas i have a honda CG125-C that doesn't even have a CDI unit. I was wanting to know whether a missing wire from the generator was something to worry about. Im thinking it doesn't because it seems to be a switch from daytime to night time setting whatever that means. but that leaves me with a wire from the lighting switch unconnected so is that a break in the circuit? now i wish i listened more learning about circuits at school.

As for the interchangeability of parts, yes i think you can just wire a bike how you like as long as you know what your doing; my problem is, i don't. but i can learn Smile hopefully

According to the wiring diagram (linky), you should only have Yellow, White and Black & White coming from the Flywheel generator.

The flywheel generator should also be grounded.

thanks for the response JM but thats a later model, i was hoping to wire it exactly the same as the C model (1983) which seems to have less parts i.e. no CDI unit. but also according the that diagram it should have 5 wires coming from the generator: Lg R, Bl W, W Y, P and Y. Mine bikes missing the pink wire, is that important? kind of wish i had a scanner so you could see how it should be. it should connect to the lighting switches where there is a pink wire left unconnected.

Hope you can understand my descriptions because im not too clued up on the technical lingo
