Will this ratio work -

Original 14 - 43
Mitos - 14 - 40

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cagiva-Raptor-125-03-11-New-steel-JT-front-sprocket-13-tooth-JTF711-13-/400259288251?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item5d31500cbb

Have renthall 38 rear, and this is a cheap way to get what i need.

Karma Thumbs Up

More exceleration on the cheap, rear is newish, and chain still in good nik .....

Rather than having to pay 100 plus on new whole lot.

Put the 38 on rear but would prefer 39 - got the 38 for 20 quid, and fitted when doing other job so was easy .. Thumbs Up

You will likely need to shorten the chain if you make sprocket smaller. So factor in a new link and tools.

Well the ratio you would have with 13-38 would give you less acceleration than standard.

You want to lower the front and raise the rear. Every tooth you drop on the front is roughly equivalent to raising the rear by 3.

It's simple

take the front and divide it by the rear.

13/38 = 0.342
14/43 = 0.325

That number is how much the rear sprocket turns with one turn of the front. The smaller that number the higher the acceleration.

That would be even worse (for acceleration).

14/40 =0.35

You want less than 14 on the front and/or more than 43 on the back.

13/38 would give more acceleration than 14/38, but still less than standard.

I in future will be getting 14 39 - maybe 40 --- and thought that 13 - 38 may be the same as 14 39/40 there or there abouts .. if i'm right i'll do it, but would be wrong to bother if i'm wrong.

Think i need kickstarts graph - again Rolling Eyes Karma
