Well I was installing an alarm so removed my battery and
'misplaced' the nuts / bolts that you use to connect the battery.

Anyone know what kind of buts / bolts ill need?

It for a battery like the one below, with the square terminals and take a little square nut and bolt

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VARTA-YTX7A-BS-MOTORCYCLE-BATTERY-INCLUDES-ACID-PACK-/120924095299?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item1c27a34343

got it bodged with some cable tis at the moment, but need to get
something more secure to connect it.

Should be something like an M10, maybe a small coach nut from B&Q will do it.

If it fits it's the right one is the right way to go with this one.

I lost one the other day (which I later found) but in the mean time I took an angle grinder to a nut to make it square-ish. It's still on there and working fine.

Thanks for the responses.

Ive got some 8.5mm ring terminals on the wires at the moment,
which are slightly bigger than the terminal holes, so M6 sounds about right.

will have a look in B&Q tomorrow.

Something like this looks like it may work

https://www.diy.com/nav/fix/hardware/bolts/roofing_bolts/Roofing-Bolt-AVF-859250-Pack-Of-10-W-M6-x-L-20mm-9708660

although the square nuts look too big, the one that was on it was more of an oblong shape.

File/grinder/grinding wheel, whatver you want to use to chop off your fingers, i mean, slim the nuts.

M6 nut and bolt on every battery I've seen. Any bike shop will have a pile of dead batteries you could nick the bolts off.
