RVF RECTIFIER???? HELP

The regulato/ rectifier blown on my RVF so i went out to get a new one but all he had was one off a 125, not sure what kind but it was a honda. It looks totaly different but has the same wires going into it. Will it be ok if i connect this up or will it do more damage that good. Any help will be great as i am useless at stuff like this.

p.s= The new one is metal and has alol slits through it, better for cooling or something. the guy said it will be fine but i just want to check with the pros, hehe.

Well what do you think?

No it won't work because it's unlikely a 125 uses the same charging system as an RVF400. You need an RVF one, which is probably the same as the NC30 and Fireblade 400 and 900, SH633-12 I believe, the numbers stamped on the reg reg.

Hi

Might work, but not sure. Check that the contacts are exactly as required. Also not sure if the smaller one from a 125 will be up to the higher current requirements.

Personally I would hold out for a proper RVF one, or an aftermarket one for an RVF. It is hardly like Hondas for the past 10 years have had reliable charging systems.
