Ebike have only out 5 plus years on my NCD

I have 10 years no claims and when I queried this with them today, they told me they never had a record of my no claims before i joined them, I was with them seven years!!!!!!!!!!! anyway as they now phone to try and get you to renew i asked why the prices had been hiked. Apparently the new underwrite they use is the casue so I told them to brace themselves for a mass exodus from long time customers.

managed to get what I wanted for 95 quid today through Motorcycle Direct using Aviva who had quoted 121 if i went through them so a happy bunny again.

In my opinion it's quite normal, on the bike I have been riding for 8 years and my no claims only shows 5. Same on the car 18 years no claims only shows as 5.

Ebike have always done this I believe - I have just stated the amount it should be and haven't had a problem.

its all well and good till you go to another place, put in your no claims and they say we wont accept 5 plus years it has to state exactlyhow many, Im just relieved that putting the five down on my quote hasnt upped the price for the insurance. It never used to be this sneaky.

As I say - I've never had a problem using something stating '5 +'; as that explicitly suggests it may be more than 5.
I think I'd start badgering them as Simple did until they gave in or someone silly/not silly enough agreed to what you said .

I put down 10 years on the quote, then tried it with the 5 years and it made no difference so Ive just gone with it, my car NCB actually states 9 + even though i have 25 years no claims, I do get fully comp pretty cheaply now though, next insurance quotes will be via saga i reckon

I've just gone from eBike to Just MC Insurance and have had to provide proof of NCB. When I got the letter back from eBike, the NCB is the same as when I started with them
They're all crooks in my book. Just MC Insurance added loads of bullshit to my policy after I had completed an online quote. One was to say that, if the bike was written off, I wouldn't get the offer of buying it back
