Last week I picked up my third Hornet, my friend was selling it and the price was right, and I absolutely love Hornets so was too good to pass up.

It has a few subtle changes to improve the looks as you will tell from the photos.

I have since changed the mirrors and indicators to normal bulb indicators(as the LED ones were playing up).

I am going to give it a thorough clean this weekend and no doubt hide it away until after winter.

Anyway I'll let the pictures do the talking:

I don't know if I'll need to replace the bolts that keep the bars on, as the engine mount has both the crash bars and bungs in, so must have a longer bolt in it?

I'm actually beginning to really like the look of these bikes. How much would someone expect to pay each of 'em, should you ever decided to sell?

1-2 grand dependant on mileage, age and condition ofcourse. The red one was the cheapest at £1100 with 18.5k on the clock.

Yours is the only one that matters.

Personally, if I had crash bars I'd keep them. But since I don't, crash bungs will have to suffice.

You'll be glad they're there when you use them.

If you do decided against it, might be wise to at least leave the on till Spring.

Not only do they look cool and are practicle, my old Bandit had similar bars and as an alternate stretch on long rides (I say long in jest because whats the tank range on a hornet, 100 miles?).

Use the bars to put your feet forward cruiser style Smile

I think I'll keep them, it makes it look more unique after all.

I absolutely agree, the tank range is pathetic!

Today I started to clean her up, took a few "before" pictures so that once she's clean you can all see what a good job I did at cleaning her Razz

The only thing I really finished today was the downpipes, took long enough to do!

For anyone interested, I used autosol to get a lot of the muck etc. off and then "OptiGlanz" to give it a real beasting, I paid £10 for the bottle and still have plenty left.

More pictures to follow tomorrow.

For the paint work I use Auto Glym Super Resin Polish, work the polish in with one microfibre cloth and then buff it up with a fresh one. Makes it look as good as new Cool

The metal has been sanded with very fine sand paper and polished at some point in it's life, I simply used AutoSol to bring the shine back and it looks perfect again.

I have removed the ghey looking fly screen, and bought some new white rim tape to replace the red.
