Basically having some issue's separating the fork's from their fork tube's :@

Basically 1 of the forks is done but the other is putting up a fight i have managed to get the seized clip out of the top " however " i can NOT get the bottom Allan key bolt out at all to release the fork , it's seems to turn very freely but not come out Sad

it's the bolt where the bolt for the wheel goes through at the bottom of the forks.

The bike is an NSR 125 1993 JC20

any help is very much appreciated

Many thanks

Matt

You may need to apply some pressure to the damper rebound inside the tube, sticking the spring back in may be enough

Id put the fork back together and then undo the allen bolt on the bottom. It shouldn't spin with the spring in it under pressure.

Some bikes need a 'damper rod holding tool'.

I made one for my TT600 using an old lawnmower handle. I recently used an old piece of curtain rail to do it on my FZR400.

I suggest you look at the damper rod that came out of your dismantled fork leg and see if you have anything that will fit tightly into the top of the rod. If you don't have anything that will work, make something.

Once I've made my own tool, I'd then use it in concert with an air impact wrench. Obviously if you don't have access to one then that is a non starter, but with the right tool it should be doable with a breaker bar.

Good luck!

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
