OK, this is a weird one. I have a bit of a head shake between 25mph and 50mph. When I let go of the handlebars, the head shakes almost to the stage where a tank slapper could be imminent. Before and after, it is perfectly smooth, even when I take my hands off the bars at 80mph.

This is a CB1300, clean history, almost all the history is there, last two services done by a main Honda dealer.

Anyone experienced this? Is this just a CB1300 thing?

Also might be worth checking to see if the head bearings are ok.

I had a similar problem, turned out to be the tyre (irritatingly there was also plenty of tread left, but something failed in the tyre's structure) - new tyre fixed it.
The advice I had was to check tyre, head bearings and wheel balance.

I've thought this, of my two hornets (I took the front wheel and tyre off the old one) and both had a headshake on certain roads at certain speeds, I'm getting a new tyre at the weekend so perhaps this will solve that issue.

I've literally just had this issue resolved. Mine was a missing engine mounting bolt. I've been dealing with it for about 2months. Whenever I let go of the handlebars it wobbles, then it gets worse and worse. First time I saw it happen that apparent I almost let it bang from side to side because I was in utter disbelief at how bad it had got.

I also found it was very very wobbly at Motorway Speeds. But yes, check your mounting points.

Had exactly the same problem on my CBR600.
First thing I checked was the head bearings, didn't need to look any further than the castle nut, it wasn't even finger tight! Shocked
Nipped it up and that cured the problem.
