 |
|
I need to get some tyres for my, YPVS, project bike, so I can start putting it all back together again.
Because of its age, tyre choice is restricted.
My options are, AFAICS, Bridgestone BT45's, Pirelli Sport Demons or Pirelli MT75's, if there are any I've missed feel free to chip in. (Sizes are 110/80/17 Front & 120/80/17 Rear, I could get away with a lower profile, say 70, and go up to a 130 on the back).
So does anyone have any real life comparisons with the tyres I have to choose from?
I have been told, by a guy who has the same bike, that the Sport Demons are better than the BT45's.
Could be they're all much of a muchness, I don't know, that's why I'm asking.
Due to my location, i'm not interested in wet weather performance, , nor longevity, in fact if I could find slicks to fit, I'd fit them, seen a few on the road here!
I have found this site:-
https://www.tyretectrading.com/store/home.asp
They are the only company, I can find, who will post out here, tell me if you know better. ____________________ "Everybody needs money, that's why they call it money!" |

It's an odd tyre choice for me, but I've had both the Continental Conti- Go! and the Conti Twist SM in GS500 sizes, 110 and 130s.
I had no issues what so ever with either until the SM got a puncture so I fitted a BT45.
Like I said, no issues with those, but I've also been fine on BT45s all round.
Believe you can get Pilot Sportys, they seem to wear pretty quick on 125s, so yours probably wont last too long |

The Sport Demons look grippier!
The BT45's are the OE recommendation, but I don't suppose Sport Demons were around in 1988.
These were the dogs danglies when I had my first LC
