and where should it go...

5.5mb image

Had a minor off the other day, I noticed this when I got back home today.

Anyone know where it should be connected to? I have no idea at all. Sad

Bike is a CBF125

I'm a little bit worried about it dangling there.

Brake light switch mate. It should hook on the back of the lever at some point.

It almost certainly attaches to the rear brake lever. The thing on the other end is your brake light switch.

Wotcha.

Don't panic - it's just the spring that operates your rear brake light switch. Just hook it back onto the brake pedal and the job's a good un !

As above.
Knowing Honda, it doesn't attach directly to the brake pedal though.
There will probably be some little metal plate extension attached to the brake lever under where the switch spring hangs.

Thanks Guys.

I think my off did a little more damage than expected, I can't get the spring to stay on. It'll do it for one pedal press, but after that if just flops about.

It's got to go in for a warranty fuel pump change tomorrow, perhaps it's better if I get them to take a quick look.

Look further up it, the plastic screw thread is the adjuster. Just re bend the end of the metal spring and re adjust where the light comes on.

Ahh perfect, that sorted it. Thanks. Adjusted the brakes a little and took her out for a quick run, she seems a lot happier.

The brake lever is a little high on the toe pad -it's higher than the foot peg, is there a simple way to lower it?

Yes. Undo bolt and pull lever out. See the shaft its on? just move down a notch. Worth marking the one you are on before taking it of so you have an idea what one is the next notch.
