If the sidestand is causing the bike to stand up too straight, grind down the stop so that it swings forward more when down. This allows the bike to settle at more of an angle from upright and makes it a lot sturdier on the stand and less likely to roll off it.
Take care - a little bit of grinding makes a lot of difference to the angle, so grind and test 1mm at a time. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

A major pain the arse for what you'd get at the end of it, i would have thought, unless someone is already making centrestands for them. I think the centrestand on the VFR is actually less stable than the sidestand, as its much more susceptible to side-to-side forces.
If you're designing your own centrestand, and getting someone to make it, you're either going to need room for clamps, or get mounts welded on to the frame, and you need to get the length and balance point right for it to be stable on the stand, and make it possible to actually get on to it. Might be a bit trial and error.
I'd try to make your sidestand better.
