hi,

well my expansion pipe on my supercity 125 has now cracked AGAIN probably close to half the diameter of the pipe and is blowing approx 1/2 inch from the manifold.. i have had this exhaust welded 6 weeks or so ago with the help of a small part of a vauxhall astra wing as a plate to cover the old crack and now a new one has appeared Evil or Very Mad

its far to rusty and thin to be re-welded this time, the last time was a complete nightmare job for the poor guy to do (2+hrs) and lets just say, he didnt look very happy afterwards Laughing
i have been using gum gum to seal it best i can but it just blows out..

is there anything else i could possibly do?
or does anybody know where i can get a second hand expansion pipe, or even anybody know of, or has got one they dont need anymore and would like to exchange it for a few bits of paper with the queens head on? Laughing

rowing to france on an arabs sand shoe seems easier to achieve than get hold of one of these exhausts

thanks in advance Thumbs Up

Better off getting a new one so that you don't have to deal with problems in the future. I can understand how much of a pain in the arse it is for you.

If you're having difficulties finding a replacement I'm pretty sure you can get an expansion chamber made up for you, but I don't know where you would look (someone else is sure to tell you). Back pressure is important as you probably know, so you obviously need to get the right thing and not any old exhaust from any 2-stroke.
Good luck Smile

gum gum is meant for small crack's and hole's not anything big, + when you are spreading it on be sure to be reasonable with the amount of it you are putting on, don't be afraid to put a lot on.

i agree with the above it's probably time for a new exhaust if you can't do anything with it Thumbs Up

( when i say new not a " Brand " new one as they can be very expensive )

Hope this helps

Matt

im thinking thats the only route open to me atm.. supercity exhausts are extremely rare to get hold of these days..

thanks for you advice and input guys Thumbs Up

welding is a waste of time, get the exhaust brazed with brass or bronze rod and it will last a lot longer.
